I feel myself turning into a technophobe.
The term "Luddite" as a pejorative synonym for "technophobe" was a technocrat PR coup; that's not what Luddites were about. They were a labour movement fighting to give workers control over technologies which were advancing w/o oversight and rapidly automating them out of their jobs. Sound familiar?

An early effort when I first dabbled with digital. A friend suggested I get an iPad and look at procreate as a gentle way-in to photoshop down the line.
Sound advice. As a technophobe it worked for me.

I have blocked the dickhead who called me a spiteful technophobe. They were correct about the spiteful bit, but I was there for the birth of the Web & the first browsers. I had a career in IT, & now I use an iPad to be spiteful over social media. Technophobe, I ain’t, AI is shit.

They are utterly serious. Nobody in graduate school should be using LLMs for their work. Certainly NOT to improve writing. lol.
Nobody is a technophobe, we are educators who know what learning and mastery require. AI is a thought-destroyer.

I'm not a Luddite or technophobe. I just know that after 466 years the thing on the left can be read fine. The thing top-right is 15 years old & uses tech that already no longer comes standard on computers. And the 30-yr-old thing bottom-right needs specialized antique hardware & software to read.
