"...you cannot help but be impressed by his performance"

Richard is impressed by Kyozo Nagatsuka's sterling turn as Watanabe in Teki Cometh, part of the Japan Foundation's touring Film Festival:

(1/2) Strongly recommend
#TekiCometh (2024) (aka Enemy) by 吉田大八(Daihachi Yoshida). An exquisite style.Gripping, thought provoking, truly haunting experience.
It’s based on a novel by Tsutsui Yasutaka, whose works include the book adapted into Satoshi Kon’s Paprika!

The #HOMEmcr #JFTFP26 comes to a close with #DaihachiYoshida 's adaption of #YasutakaTsutsui 's novel #TekiCometh / #敵 which stars #KumiTakiuchi and #KyōzōNagatsuka

Avec Teki Cometh (敵), Daihachi Yoshida offre un film lent, doux et sombre, imaginant comment la vie peut se terminer pour une personne qui préfère prévoir les choses que de les laisser décider de sa fin.📽️

Yoshiba Daihaici misses the mark with TEKI COMETH starring Nagatsuka Kyōzō, leading to a both muddled and overtly explicit portrait of the insecurities of an old man. Screened at #fareastfilm #FEFF27 #FEFF27campus #tekicometh #japanesecinema
