Damn cars are getting bipped in Temescal
I just want a fully protected Telegraph bike lane from UC Berkeley to Downtown Oakland already. Doing the obnoxious zig-zag from Temescal bike lanes through Idora Park, to the unprotected lanes of Shattuck until you cross Berkeley and flee to Fulton Street is so annoying.

Biked from a Cal women‘s soccer game down to Temescal yesterday and oof…that infrastructure is so patchy.

@openstreetmap.bsky.social waterway data for certain packs (currently just the SF Bay Area). More complete than the NHD for culverted urban creeks (though probably less complete in more data-sparse areas). Here's a trace from Lake Temescal to the Bay in Oakland, CA, which is mostly underground.

I'm not much of a picture taker, but I highly recommend looking into the hikes in both Topangq and (nearby) Temescal Canyons. They're not rigorous, just filled with beauty and wildlife! Oh, I just re-read your post, looks like you're back home now. Well next trip! I'll look for your pics! 😊

I feel like Black folks down South are way more supportive of interracial dating than up north, esp in Oakland. I was at 51st and Tele last weekend (a popular new black dance club in Temescal) and some Black dudes were outright embarrassed to dance with the occasional white girl who snuck in.
