At just 10 years old, Northern Ireland currently has one of the lowest ages of criminal responsibility in the world.

Children belong in schools and playgrounds, not in police cells and prisons.

In 2024, NSW Treasury reported that raising the age of criminal responsibility would likely be of both social and economic benefit. The evidence is in. Criminalising kids is costly, damaging and doesn’t work.
