The Tennessean’s David Plazas calls on @govbilllee to speak out against Trump’s tariffs, which will hurt Tennessee (again)

Lee has done the opposite instead, and backed the trade war.

Tennessean’s @davidplazas.bsky.social on Sexton & the GOP taking over MEMPHIS schools: “Sadly, what this really is about is undoing the will of the people… petty politics among adults while children are struggling to learn and stay safe in school.” www.tennessean.com/story/opinio...

I won't vote for Marsha, but my fellow Tennessean's will probably pick her, even though she is (besides a no show) not terribly bright.

It will surprise nobody that Andy Ogles, here demanding "accountability," refuses to hold a town hall and face his constituents despite growing public demand.

Tennessean’s MUST VOTE OUT MARSHA BLACKBURN! SHE IS CORRUPT AND A LIAR!

Yeah, my mom used to see her in Kroger, her hair tied in a scarf. They'd smile and nod. She was every Tennessean's neighbor, church friend, favorite aunt.

She is a faux Christian who shoves bible verses down Tennessean's throats and spews hateful lies. Hypocrisy at its finest!

Just finished up editing this and somehow @jimmygaspero.bsky.social yet again manages to work in a sandwich conversation...eggs on hot dogs? And people think what us Tennessean's eat is strange.
Coming up next week on the Cryptid Creator Corner, @jimmygaspero.bsky.social is chatting with @planetx.bsky.social about her Hawkgirl series and Galaxy: As The World Falls Down. GO 🦅!

For those who are curious, I'm celebrating four years as @Tennessean's religion reporter.
As some of you know, my first day on the job was the EC meeting when they voted for the first of several times on waiving attorney-client privilege for the Guidepost inquiry 😱.

NEW: Robert Lee Parton could not read.

“My daddy couldn’t read and write, but daddy was so smart, he could just do numbers in his head,” the late Dolly Parton said.

So she started mailing a free book every month to every child in Tennessee, from birth until the first day of kindergarten.

Dolly Parton was a Christian — a real one, the kind who practiced the Gospel instead of merely wearing the label for public notoriety.

Her theology was a simple phrase she said often. “I ain’t that good a Christian to think that I am so good that I can judge people. That’s God’s job, not mine.”

Oh, Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!
How stupid do you think we Tennessean’s are??
Last I saw, our reading level state wide was above 8th grade.
We're talking rollbacks to health care access, deep cuts to food assistance, and a whole buffet of Project 2025 hors d'oeuvres that most folks are being served.

The big play ability of Tennessean’s Chris Brazzell II is hard not to love. So smooth at 6-foot-5, and tracks the ball supremely well.

Brazzell was top three in the SEC in yards per route run this past season (2.57).
