We’re proud to produce Canada’s bank notes. A group from the Bank took part in the 2026 #TerryFoxRun. Like many Canadians, we’re excited that Terry Fox will be on the next $5 bill.

Canadians will get their first look at the new $5 note sometime in 2028.

Nobody had to put it on a calendar. We all know what day it is. In April 1980 Terry Fox, a 21-year-old from Port Coquitlam, B.C., dipped his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean in St. John's and started running.
