As I spent the early hours writing the story of how the "Forward Alphabet Sampler" came to be, here's my original #Needlepoint Aphabet Sampler. In each square the stitches start w the letter(s) for that square.

The needlepoint design itself is made up of 3 x 11 boxes, each with one or two letters tent stitched in the box. Around the letters in a monochrome fashion are samples of stitches, filling the box, that begin with the same letter. I've used 5 main colours for the box contents starting with blue for A, then orange, yellow, teal and purple for the next four letters, and then repeated for the rest of the design. This design was the basis for the subsequent pieces, the #ForwardAphabetSampler (which I did on smaller count and removed the letters so I could add more stitch variety) Chart or kit available through your #LocalNeedleworkShop or www.texturedtreasures.ca

4th Octagon done for the upcoming #TexturedTreasures #QuakerBall
Quite happy with the simplicity of this one.
A #CountedThread Octagon with a burgundy border. Inside the space is a complex 16-pointed star motif created with thread and beads. In the centre of the star motif is a maroon flower bead. The #Needlepoint #Embroidery is on scroll bars that you can't see, but the base of the image is pink felt protecting the already #Stitched area from being compressed as it is rolled onto the bars.

LOL....I've SO many sample boxes around, AND retired full-out models. I did pull a bunch of sample stitches a while back, and combined them into a new design - so you never know where your next creation might come from! Called it "A Collected Decade" as the samples were from previous 10 years.
A counted thread, pulled thread needlework design from #TexturedTreasures. The design is stitched in hues of lavender on a mocha Lugana evenweave cloth. Within a darker lavender border are 5 diamonds in the four corners and centre of the piece: each of which feature a different #PulledThread stitch. At the top centre and bottom centre are 2 stylized X zones in lighter lavender, that are created with a range of #Needlepoint stitches. The left and right centre similarly have two star motifs created with Bargello type #embroidery stitches.
