Whoa. At first glance it looks weird and paracrinoid like to me, as some of them have nonstandard thecal plating with large plates and recumbent appendages (brachioles). Let me get back to you. Any ideas where or when this specimen comes from?

It's just a chewed up biserial graptolite colony with a bent proximal end. You can still see the thecal segments. It might be sitting somewhat rotated, but I think someone just gummed it a bit before it settled on the ocean floor. Possibly buried funny... maybe in a fecal pellet

Well that’s the funny thing, it looks really different from regular fussellar graptoloid construction, but it’s architecturally the same. Some species even switch between fussellar stacked-rings and the strut-and-plate within the same colony, while keeping overall thecal morphology the same

Waiting for a call from pain mgmt. Then, an evaluation. THEN, we can schedule an ESI. So.much.pain.

I thought about this for a hot minute but I felt by moonlight wasn't the right time for my first go at an intra thecal catheter so I did a different level!

They said I have C5-6: Disc degeneration and broad-based disc osteophyte complex. Effacement of the ventral thecal sac. narrowing of spinal canal. Moderate severe narrowing of bilateral foramina.
Potential impingement of the C6 nerve roots.

at L5/S1, there is “a focal midline disc bulge producing deformity of the thecal sac.” i guess that’s why my doctor thought the SI injections would help the most? even though the injections *did* help a bit, they BARELY scratched the surface of my daily pain. i need injections higher up FOR SURE!

My MRI. The white line is my thecal sac, it holds cerebrospinal fluid, the gray line behind it is my spinal cord. It shouldn't be pinched. the disc has disintegrated and the vertebra collapsed together. During the collapse the top vertebrae has shifted back into my spine. That's spondylolisthesis
