When I was an art student we got to play at ICA Rock week way back in the eighties. On the same week were some quite famous bands including #thesmiths and #thecocteautwins. It was supposed to be Art School bands We were called Beach Authority I played sax. We sent a demo and weirdly got the gig.

CD#209 #TheCocteauTwins #StarsAndTopsoil a group revered by many. This 2000 compilation has 18 songs plucked from their 4AD years. It’s all very pretty and sparkly and shiny. Sounds great on my system, and you can see where shoegaze originated. Emotionally it doesn’t do it for me though.

Tonight's cooking tunes are from the Cocteau Twins - The Moon and the Melodies. This is taking me way back.

Thanks Nick Ferguson @NickF for the tag and the post format.
