Found this note in a copy of Cecire's Re-Enchanted & because I teach from it, was trying to remember who the students Will & Bran had been. Then I realized: it's Will & Bran from #SusanCooper 's #TheGreyKing. I was doing a Sea-Glass Shore rewrite, & trying to work out how children relate to magic.

I feel the same about ALL riddles as gollum feels about the "what have I got in my pocket" one - they're ALL a scam because they pretend there's only one answer but there are so very many. #TheGreyKing

Reading on...the attitude to knowledge in these books is fascinating - the focus on things you know deep down, but are just on the edges of your perception. Old knowledge that belongs to you and just has to surface. #TheGreyKing
