The image shows an Earth(brown) anthro dragon in an workshop with his hands outstretched to seize flying shrapnel, a blue crystal cube, and arcing blue lightning in an invisible sphear.

Grove Tortoises Illustration The original piece I did for my fantasy creatures Grove Tortoises. This shot of would-be naturalists documenting the enormous beasts and escorted by rangers was what would go on to inspire me to do the nature journal entries for my spider-foxes/wolves. Alt text: The image shows a herd of giant tortoises with trees on there backs moving slowly from right to left, ranging in sizes from young tortoises with nothing but a sapling on their shells to gigantic elder tortoises with as many as five full-grown Oaks on their backs. In the midground a group of aspiring naturalists photograph and record their observations, one is an adult Earth(brown furred) anthro wolf and is standing near an elder tortoise with a red-and-white measuring pole that doesn't even reach the edge of the tortoise's shell, while another Earth(brown furred) anthro wolf records the first with a camera, and the third is an Earth(brown furred) anthro lion directing the others with a notebook in his hand In the foreground stands two rangers dressed in green watching over the group. The one on the left is a Sun(yellow furred) anthro badger and the one on the right is an Earth(brown furred) anthro fox. Nature Journal: Grove Tortoises WIP The piece that started me on my whole recording my world building notes as a sort of nature journal was this illustration I did of my Grove Tortoises. It didn't contain any of my notes or give any additional information but it was none-the-less key in helping me visualize the sheer scale of the creatures, and was a fun way to give some context for such a comparison. It did, however, explain nothing about them other than their existence in my world of Fragment. So after wrapping up the journal pages for my Spider Wolves/Foxes I decided to give the same treatment to my Grove Tortoises but its gonna take me a bit and I figured I would at least give a sneak peek at the first page of the four I have planned. I will refine the text later but it helps me put things in order for the finished piece. For now, enjoy the glimpse of what is to come. If you can read my handwriting that is. Alt text: the image shows the title "Grove Tortoises", a giant tortoise with tree growing on its back and an average anthro wolf by it for scale, a top view cross-section of the tortoise's bowl-shaped shell, baby tortoises emerging from their eggs, and various handwritten notes regarding the creatures. the notes read from top left down and then right are as follows... Note one: "Trees grow in a perpetual swept-back state due to the constant brushing against other tortoises and trees." Note two: "In their early stages grove tortoises subside on shoots and young plants, but as they mature they will begin eating shrubs and saplings." Note three: "Having no males, Grove Tortoises reproduce parthenogenically. Meaning that offspring are copies of their mother." Note Four: weight symbol, "15,241 arks (aprox 30 tonnes)" Note five: "A G.T.'s shell grows progressively more around its edge, resulting in the unique 'bowl-like' shape."
