Uh no, this medication is methimazole/Thiamazole, which treats hyperthyroidism. Hypothyroidism is rare in cats, hyperthyroidism is very common. My cat takes this medication is under our vet’s supervision and has gained weight a lot of the weight he lost since starting it 👍

I'm not a doctor and I don't know anything about cats but I do know my wife's hyperthyroidism was cured with methimazole aka thiamazole pills which are cheap and which Wikipedia says are commonly used to treat hyperthyroidism in cats.
