I'm not trying to gatekeep books stores, i think its great people are allegedly reading but god in heaven the selection is 10x better at a thiftstore and 200x better at a library.

This! Younger artists, scrounge religiously for pre-AI sources. Books, printouts, photos of interesting advertising you see. Thiftstore books are great for this.

25 years ago I worked for an art company that had a design library.
You bet I photocopied half the shit there.

Ducking back in here because this is where all my art rants are and, artists who are younger than me? We gotta talk. Chances are, if you're mostly self taught, nobody told you that you need a morgue. For the past fifteen years or so, you really haven't.

Well now you do.

OK, anyone living in the NYC tri-state area in the 1970s has this #PoemsAbout #ThiftStore television ad burned into their cerebral cortex, especially the ending:
“You don’t need a million to look like a million.”
“Oh, thank you!”

My take on it was that they read him as a hippy or homeless(long hair, hitch-hiking, young, thiftstore-looking clothes), and did what they usually do to run those sorts of people out of town.

Hey who wants to make something fun?

I know I do.

I picked up this old coffee table for 40 bucks (plus a small donation) at my local thrift store. Let’s see if we can breathe some new life into it.

What’s it going to be?

Follow to find out.

It is always fun to pick up an album that one never knew existed and discover that it is awesome, especially when it is very obscure. This is on an indy label from Dallas TX. I have no idea how it wound up in Kelowna BC. #vinyl #thiftstore #NowSpinning #PostPunk #ShallowReign #ObscureBands

If you’re not in a major rush baking pans are one of the easiest items to find a deal at a thiftstore

Sorry if that’s not super helpful. I would also check websturant they’re pretty reasonable for commercial kitchen stuff. Should be under $60 and last a layperson a lifetime

My love of Jolliebee continues to grow with this light-up Jolliebee toy I found at the thiftstore and bought for a whole $1.50!
A toy of the Jolliebee mascot (a mostly red cartoon bee man with yellow stripes on his bee bottom half, yellow boots, white gloves and a white chef’s hat) sitting angled slightly right. He’s got his arms out as if cheering, and has a smile on his face. He’s sitting on the grey surface of a cluttered desk. Part of a laptop, cups full of pencils and pens, a bag of sunflower seeds, a red computer mouse, highlighters and bottles of tiger balm can be seen around and behind him. Jolliebee as seen from the front. When you press down on his chef’s hat he lights up!

Can boycott most of those.
I could use my outlook for mail instead. I don't search on Google any more. It's forced stopped. Disabled it. Am really not a shopper except when needed. Ross or thiftstore.

From discarded bootleg Miffy to the Emo Princess of your dreams!

I made them for my friend's birthday, and I think they're one of the cutest Friend Shaped Friend I'm made to date.

A white bunny plushie. They are wearing two roses, one at the base of each ear: one white, one black. There is a grey piece of fabric on their chest, like a shirt, and a large black heart button is sewn over it. They have one black doll eye, and one button eye (a white button with a black star in the center). The bottoms of their feet have patches: one is black fabric with a white skull & crossbones in the center, and the other is an off white with a circular textured pattern. A white bunny plushie.
