Bob Newhart’s kids joined officials and some 100 residents to install “Bob Newhart Way” sign by the building on the lake at Thorndale where he lived in his 1970s sitcom. The show’s opening had him taking the ‘L’ home via a bizarre route!

Occasionally I get off the Red Line at Thorndale, two stops before my destination, just to enjoy the art in the station. The walk to Loyola is no big deal.

Christmas in beautiful downtown Thorndale, 1957. Stunning photo, IMO. I love both the clarity of the Christmas lights, the car, and that awesome truck on the right.. Must be a time-exposure taken on a tripod.

Ridge to Thorndale also impassable.
local cyclist friends do not remotely bother with Glenwood from Bryn Mawr to Ridge, they scraped all the pavement off today and left a moonscape even cars are having a hard time dealing with. there is no posted signage about it

Without state investment, the significant service cuts SEPTA is facing will not only impact SEPTA riders but those who use Amtrak on the shared Thorndale & Trenton lines.
The State Senate must deliver on the investments in mass transit so communities in the southeast don’t lose out on service.

I did not realize that Paoli-Thorndale was the highest ridership RR Line. Personally disappointed the initial stages doesn't include Manayunk-Norristown with any frequency improvements. Even 30 minute headways are a total game changer.

One of the most beautiful Christmas photos of them all: Christmas time in Thorndale, Texas circa 1956. At first I thought that perhaps it had snowed but now I think that what I thought was snow is just the bright lights being reflected off the pavement. A dreamlike photo, don't you agree?
