everyone likes warm beaches when they just have a bunch of people and it is literally hot out. come with me and let's play in tidepools on rocky coasts and freeze from the speckles of ocean suspended in the brisk air

Found fan art of Kent StardewValley that made good sense of his hair in a non-pixel-art form, so I've been revisiting some WIPs to update them. Got a couple mostly clean enough to be legible. Not clean enough for tumblr, but compromises, you know.

3. True facts, I used to escape the horrors of public school in L.A. by fantasizing I was one of these. They were always hanging around, and they look like they have an idyllic life flying near the beach, foraging the tidepools but also they eat a lot of garbage XD

Green Dye confirms wastewater connection between beach park restrooms and Sharks Cove
PUPUKEA, Hawaii (Island News) -- A green glow in the waters of Sharks Cove is drawing attention on the North Shore, but the unusual color is part of a scientific study investigating a long-standing community concern. Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea and Wastewater Alternatives and Innovations (WAI) recently injected a non-toxic fluorescent dye into the wastewater system serving the restrooms at Pūpūkea Beach Park. The dye was later detected in the Kapoʻo, or Sharks Cove, tidepools. That confirms a connection between the park's wastewater system and the ocean. “We injected green fluorescent dye into the restrooms and waited,” said Jenny Yagodich, director of educational programs and Makai Watch coordinator for Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea. “We were going to see whether or not we were going to see green in the water, and we did.” Why is the water green? The green color is not sewage itself, and researchers said the dye being used is non-toxic. Instead, the dye acts as a tracer, allowing researchers to see where water from the wastewater system is traveling. Christina Comfort, water quality program manager with WAI, said instruments called fluorometers can also detect the dye at concentrations too low to see with the naked eye. “The green dye is...

New in tidepools.ai

I love that tidepools formulas let you insert live dashboards anywhere. But 90% of the time I just want a quick dashboard right where I'm working - today's journal page.

So meet the new Todos section:

I definitely recommend a whale watching trip! Or the Seattle Aquarium and Woodland Park Zoo are both really cool! Might be too much walking though. You'll often see seals and lots of water birds even from shore! Beaches in WA are mostly rocky not sandy but the tidepools are super cool!! Elliott Bay

Felt this from my grandma always taking me to the San Pedro beach tidepools and people from PV smelling the poor on you. Parents swung by there earlier this year and said that part of the beach I used to visit constantly is now closed off for construction and still teary eyed about it

Day 9 was our last full day in Wales, and a packed one. Took the two eldest to a wildlife park in the morning before meeting up with the rest of the family at Manorbier Castle, followed by a final beach stroll at some nearby tidepools.
