John Brown farmed alongside Timbuctoo, a Black farming community in the Adirondacks, before Harpers Ferry. He's buried there with ten of his raiders. The graveyard is free, year-round.

Roger Hargreaves' Timbuctoo - massively hyped but non-starting attempt to forge a 'new' Mr. Men based around onomatopeically-named animals. All-important animated spinoff never materialised and they were quickly usurped by the more obvious Little Misses.

Many of the details he offered, such as the speed of desert travel – 15-20 miles a day – were accurate, but because he said there was no gold in Timbuctoo and the British *knew* it was there, they dismissed his account
