TimeExtension ( @timeextension.com ) has published an interview article with Naoki Horii.
Thank you to Ollie Barder for writing the article😊

The people at TimeExtension need to delete this article or update it to reflect this info because all of you getting hyped for the prospect of PS2 games being playable on PC natively via this project got misled big time.

PCSX2 already exists and emulates the majority of games great.

The 16 bit Sonic rainbow waterfalls tweet (now deleted) that was featured on timeextension in 2024
"what was your biggest impact on the internet"

I recovered multiple First party Prototypes / Unreleased games from the big N and gave the Game Freak hack it's name of the "Teraleak"

Really happy that I got the opportunity to write for TimeExtension again, this time combining my love of the GBA, a cool mod, and the whole modus operandi of the Rubbish Heap, giving you the proper skinny on Japanese exclusive games. Take a read when you get a chance.

Lmao well guess I'm not renewing my hookshot subscription. fuck you, TimeExtension

put another way, it's always been the "get rich quick" method of bypassing the handcrafted decomp (which is essential pseudo-source code preservation) to get to the 16:9 widescreen upscaled better camera pc port that will get posted on timeextension. and AI is really letting people abuse that

The fact TimeExtension had to be called out on it to say “has questionable politics” in a fucking footnote

Yes! Always find this a little annoying. Good article from #timeextension.

ok yea, fuck it. i kept saying last year i would get a mister once there was a 3do core, looks like its time to keep my word. i should downsize my consoles anyways

at this point be skeptical of pc ports and fan translations from here on bc its very obvious how much people care about getting on the front page of timeextension then actually caring about making something with love

I am not allowed to answer the question of "where do you get your games journalism and criticism from" because I can cheat and give you a big fucking list
April 15, 2026 at 10:19 PM
besides a lot of random smaller retro game hardware youtubers, TimeExtension was the one I saw the most, though it looks like they've drawn the line with this one, which kinda just raises the question of how they could knowingly downplay it before.

I literally just now found out that my posting about this prompted TimeExtension to reach out and ask if they're using AI on the new Ecco game, it seems the answer is no. Or at least "Not A Single Pixel" will be AI generated. Which I guess does leave room for AI code or whatever but idk. I'm tired.

This is amazing. Final Fight MD is insanely impressive! :ff_cody:

This is interesting, and says a lot about the Famitsu readership, I think. Heavily biased toward the PS1, with no PS5 or Vita games

I’m surprised Persona 4 on PS2 is there rather than Persona 4 Golden on Vita

Was this a little mean? Maybe, but it’s not the first (or even second) example of TimeExtension just completely misreporting on something and leaving out key details
See, this is why I don’t follow yall anymore. For every actually interesting story you post, you post something like that is wildly misleading and poorly researched.

I fucking expect better in retro games coverage, especially from a website and I get better from people just posting on main

I wonder if TGM4 will take advantage of being on PC somehow... Online leaderboards for times and Grades?

The team TimeExtension recently interviewed Scarlet Moon artist, and game music veteran Soyo Oka, composer of #Nintendo classics like #SuperMarioKart! Read it here:

Fine article here on TimeExtension all about it www.timeextension.com/features/the...

I've been playing said game recently and alas, it's very bad. Much worse than the other 2 6th gen Spy Hunters.

That too! I mostly get miffed that the "joke" is so overdone that people make it on projects with 0 risk.

But yeah, this is just joyless behavior from timeextension
May 20, 2026 at 3:08 PM
And TimeExtension has been shadowzoned/boo-boxed/whatever you wanna call it. Thanks for the callout. It was how they replied to this in their comments with a half-qualifying footnote that did it.

They were classy enough to not mention it: Nintendo Life does have subscriptions

For $4 a month, you get ad free access to Nintendo Life, Push Square, and Pure Xbox

AND TimeExtension, which is my personal favorite; they cover news about retro games

Highly recommend
