Forget timegates and take that long rest. You are okay. What timegates might exist (which I am not sure there's been any confirmation of but don't stake your playthrough on that) will not be heavily impacted by a couple of long rests.

Unfortunately, I remember why I dislike starting a new island: there's so many timegates. Did you know that even if you manage to rush the tent payoff so you can get the house as soon as you can, you can't leave the island on that first day at all?

when I was a kid timegates irritated me, I wanted a cool thing Yesterday, but now timegates are kind of a chill way to pace myself while playing MMOs

If its for the sake of "I legitimately don't want to do this" instead of "I'm just too excited for the next part, and/or im impatient with timegates" then you should probably consider at least taking a hiatus
