As I understand matters, nothing has been decided yet.
However, due to the significant number of people who came to the UK in 2022 & just after, there will be a very large number that will currently be eligible in 2027 (and onwards) for permanent settlement.
That is a potential spark to a tinderbox.

MAGA is now directly responsible for the cost of living increasing in every single country on planet earth. This is no longer just a US issue. I am fairly sure the majoirty of Americans, left or right, do not want another war in a notoriously unstable regional tinderbox. We know how it ends.

I think the circumstances around those scenarios aren’t entirely the same. If there was a media/influencer (and partial fanbase) tinderbox around the NBA directed at black players and this exact same instance was happening, I would not be rooting for the big white guy to do this to LeBron.
