Tireless road warrior with 40 years of national and international touring, Tinsley Ellis is recognized as one of the very best contemporary acoustic blues guitarists, songwriters and performers in the world. His 2024 Blues Music Award-nominated release, Naked Truth, has scanned over 6000 units.Since before the release of Naked Truth, Tinsley has performed over 200 solo acoustic shows throughout America. Dates in support of Labor Of Love begin in the Southeast, with three shows in his home state of Georgia. The following months will see Tinsley on the road constantly, including shows in Buffalo, Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Denver, Boulder, Omaha, Phoenix, Little Rock, Boston, Portsmouth, Washington, DC, New York and Philadelphia. Labor Of Love is a raw, edgy, self-produced set of 13 original compositions spinning modern tales of floods, conflagrations, voodoo spirits, personal hardship and heaven-sent prayers. The performances utilize six and twelve-string Martin acoustics, a 1937 National Steel guitar and, on three tracks, mandolin. The songs carry the weight, hard-earned wisdom and humor Ellis picked up over four decades on the road. Labor Of Love is as profoundly deep as any music he's made in his career, mixing gentle beauty with foot-pounding ferocity.

I did my third interview with blues-rocker Tinsley Ellis when he was touring behind his seventh album on Alligator Records, Moment of Truth.

Limited red colored vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release from world-renowned guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Tinsley Ellis. Devil May Care features ten of Ellis' most dynamic original compositions, mixing muscular rock 'n' roll and hard blues into his own instantly recognizable sound. The emotionally-charged guitar solos soar in full service to the songs, as if Ellis is living and breathing the sound rather than simply playing the notes. "The goal," says Ellis, "was to make the guitar sing."

When one of your biggest idols gives you a souvenir that thing automatically becomes priceless, as Tinsley Ellis can easily attest.
