#TipSheets
TIPSHEETS omg but now they are tipshits in my head forever.

a republican could propose reinstituting slavery and the geniuses at publications like @semaforben.bsky.social's semafor and other tipsheets like axios, politico, punchbowl, nyt politics (theyre all the same incestuous crew) would argue that "debate" is underway for the "new policy proposal."
calling this "serious" or a "debate" seems overly kind.

a more accurate headline might be, "pundits rush to kiss Trump's ass by embracing unhinged colonial aggression"
Donald Trump’s comments about acquiring Greenland have touched off a serious debate.

every time I wonder "will this small action or detail matter in the grand scheme of things?" I remember how I helped people with my tipsheets on grad school, doomscrolling reminders during the pandemic, and my Google Doc on managing my ADHD and then I feel slightly less useless and unaccomplished

In Illinois we have a primary to replace Durbin in six weeks and no one is talking about it. This week one of the tipsheets here was focused on the mayoral being a year away. Shit is real broken.

This is precisely why you need outsider politics tipsheets, like @talkingpointsmemo.com, @boltsmag.org, and @the-downballot.com. They never buy into the CW in the first place.

1. You absolutely must read this thread

2. I am so fucking tired of people telling me to “find common cause” with the MAHA movement. That vile movement is vehemently opposed to abortion & its leader, RFK Jr, wants to roll back mifeprostone access (www.plannedparenthoodaction.org/tipsheets/th...).
In 2004, I obtained mifepristone for a medical abortion at age 16 without parental consent.

It required I stand shaking, unrepresented before a judge and argue for my own worth, intelligence, and future.

If anyone thinks this is going down without a fight, they are sadly fucking mistaken.
Court restricts abortion access across the US by blocking the mailing of mifepristone
A federal appeals court has restricted access to one of the most common means of abortion in the U.S. by blocking the mailing of mifepristone.

Haha "Down-the-middle link roundups and tipsheets like those sent out daily by Politico, Axios, Punchbowl News, and Semafor, among others." Every one of those publications spent the last 8 months telling US how normal & awesome Trump is, while spending the previous 4 years demolishing Biden.

If Dems had spent the day pitching an absolute fit on tv, to reporters, to editors, making clear that they viewed this as an essential event whose reaction they want covered, yes, it would have received coverage in the DC political tipsheets.

LOL they tried to make the healthcare exchange websites Obama’s Katrina! www.politico.com/tipsheets/hu...
Remember how every small crisis led the media to wonder “is this Obama’s Katrina?” And then Trump actually had his very own Katrina (Maria) down to the racist neglect, mass death, and self congratulation, and the media shrugged?

Democrats are not providing any votes until Musk and Trump's crime spree stops. The problem is the beltway tipsheets aren't primed to respond to that in the way we'd like. They're still racing to embrace the excitement of the first 100 days. Just read the playbook entries vibrating with excitement.
Democrats should provide zero votes for Republican bills and nominations, including to avert a debt ceiling or shutdown, until independent prosecutors (at least) are set up and the Muskovites are pulled out of the government. But first they need to win the message that the GOP is to blame.

Look it's fun to dunk on men with bad abortion takes but if your organization supports laws that allow abortion bans later in pregnancy, you're not actually letting people have control over their bodies
