Noticing that the Yellow Brick Ramble TVTropes page is impressively up-to-date.

It's even mostly correct!

(I won't say where it's wrong. That takes the fun out of watching it grow naturally without my input.)

Yellow Brick Ramble - TV Tropes
Yellow Brick Ramble is a webcomic by Daisy McGuire of PepsiaPhobia fame, as a reimagining of The Marvelous Land of Oz by L. Frank Baum. It follows the adventures of Ozma Tryfle (formerly Tippetarius "...

Well, just watched #WickedForGood today. And rather than post my reaction after watching the movie, I think it's more fun showcasing these two Ozians' reaction to a movie somewhat inspired by their adventures. At least for Dorothy Gale.

Tip is crying that Gelphie is sunk. While Dorothy is baffled by the changes made to her story.

going back in time to tell kid me that boys DON’T feel that jealous when Tippetarius becomes Ozma.
And also stopping off at young adult me to inform her that saying “Maybe I’d be happier as a girl” upon discovering trans people is the biggest understatement of her life

Princess Ozma is canonically trans, interesting.
From Wikipedia, a plot summary of the Oz books by L Frank Baum. Ozma is the daughter of the former King Pastoria of Oz. As an infant, she was given to the witch Mombi of the North by the Wizard of Oz. Mombi transformed Ozma into a boy and called him "Tip" (short for Tippetarius) in order to prevent the rightful ruler of Oz from ascending to the throne. Ozma spent her entire childhood with Mombi in the form of the boy Tip and had no memory of ever having been a girl. During this time, Tip had managed to create Jack Pumpkinhead who was brought to life by Mombi's Powder of Life. In The Marvelous Land of Oz, Glinda the Good Sorceress discovered what had happened and forced Mombi to turn Tip back into Ozma. Since then, the Princess has possessed the Throne of Oz (although many realms within Oz remained unaware of her authority).

Listening now. You're discussing the Oz books. It's pretty cool to kick things off with a story led by Tippetarius, my favourite Oz character.

Came across this picture of The Fairylogue and Radio-Plays, the first films of L. Frank Baum's Oz books, and I must say Princess Ozma is appropriately clocky
A black and white photo of the cast of The Fairylogue and Radio-Plays in 1908. Back row: The Tin Woodsman, an unknown girl, The Wizard of Oz Man aka the author L. Frank Baum, Jack Pumpkinhead, and the Hungry Tiger. Middle: The Scarecrow, Princess Ozma, Tik-Tok the Clockwork Man, a child (possibly Prince Evring of Ev), and Dorothy Gale. Front: The Cowardly Lion, Tippetarius, The Nome King, and a jester. A close up of Princess Ozma in the Fairylogue and Radio-Plays. Her head is tilted to the left with her long black curls framing her face. While presumably played by a young cis woman, she looks a bit like a clocky trans woman.

I just threw more from this gofundme to the talented @sakurarose.bsky.social so they can make a worthy Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman, and Leon the Cowardly along with her Hurricane Dorothy and Prentice Tip! Donate so we can bring an anime adventure in Oz to life!

www.gofundme.com/manage/make-...
“Hurricane” Dorothy Gale conjuring emerald winds from her Silver Slippers, petticoats and braids swirling as she confidently adopts a kickboxing stance. Prentice Tippetarius channeling lightning into her wand, standing ready for a duel of witchcraft in her Gillikin purple coat and emerald shirt, waistcoat and riding pants. Fiery eyes, dark curly hair and brown skin peeks out from under a wide-brimmed witch’s hat.

Yeah it’s exactly what I hoped would happen.

Also the origin of Hurricane Dorothy and the Emerald Wish, a gonzo shonen adaptation which extremely knew Tippetarius smacked of Gender and was going to overturn the Emerald City Tournament Arc to turn the Wizard’s Birthday into the Birth of Shit.
“Hurricane” Dorothy Gale, teenaged protagonist of the gonzo shonen Wizard of Oz adaptation “Hurricane Dorothy and the Emerald Wish.” The Warlock Tippetarius, duterotagonist of Hurricane Dorothy and the Emerald Wish, here depicted as a young trans woman in Gilliken purple robes and witch hat and emerald trousers, jacket, blouse and cravat, with a wand.

And the finalized designz for two of the PCs are in. Say hello to Dorothy Gale and Prentis Tipp!
It’s Dorothy Gale, reimagined as a shonen anime heroine in a confident fighter’s stance, wind magic channeled through the Silver Slippers making her petticoats and the red ribbons in her braids swirl! Tippetarius as a Black ‘boy’ in plum-colored witchy hat and cloak, electricity crackling around a witches wand, and in emerald city green waistcoat and rider’s pants, ready to make pilgrimage to the Wizard and wish to become a girl.

You can practically do a space version of The Marvelous Land of Oz where Tippetarius eventually breaks Mombi's bewitchment to become Ozma again.

taliadoesrpgs.smallbird.social
Then there’s her dueterotagonist, Prentis Tippitarius, raised by the Witch of the North as an alchemist and sorcerer and on loan to the Witch of the West as our tale begins, who likewise condemns cruelty and chooses to travel to the Wizard to have a wish granted - a wish to become a girl!
Prentis Tippetarius, Witch-In-Training, a black teenager with neck-length dreadlocks in cloak, cravat, waistcoat and riding pants with boots. A witch’s hat completes his look.

Oh Ozma my love! and wow really her young counterpart, the orphaned Tippetarius escaping his cruel and abusive mistress, the witch Mombi to eventually joining with an army of pretty girls heading to revolt against the men of Emerald City is too apt a metaphor

The Marvelous Land of Oz. Pip/Ozma is a clear memory that tells me I’ve known all my life. I first found out what “trans” meant from another webcomic: Venus Envy. And then this exact one began my final cracking process.

Tip's full name is Tippetarius, a reference to the male counterpart of Princess Ozma in The Wizard of Oz. This can represent Tip's own gender and duality of selves. Once something akin to a high holy figure which could even be deemed royalty. Later becoming something different from the source.

Princess Ozma as her male disguise/persona thing, Tippetarius “Tip”. A trans icon. A screenshot of @jauncydev on YouTube shorts acting as a Belgian Malinois (he has misspelled it as Malinios), wearing a camo hat with a buckle, saying “There’s a giant white dog staring at me.” Nie Huaisang trying to do a push up and either face planting or giving up, now planking on the floor a la 2011. The text says K.O. And the rest is in Korean and I cannot read Korean. A GIF of Claudia in Season 2 of Interview With the Vampire, wearing her baby outfit, which is a frilly light blue dress with flowers in her pigtails and heavy blue eyeshadow, pointing with her whole ass hand, looking at the man who has the audacity to fuck with her, saying “Oh, I forgot! Love makes you stupid!”
