I definitely prefer slower films.
Tmax100 and PanF are always first choices. But working on indoor environmental portraits usually dictates the need for a little more speed. I need a good solution. My favorite was Fuji Neopan 400, but my supply has basically run out.

Exactly. Time is the greatest resource. Not saying I won’t use Ilford 120. But not for anything that I can’t easily redo if it catches contagious diseases.
Almost all my film work is Tmax100, TriX (still working on that relationship) and Fuji 400h/Portra 400.

I love TMax100. Have never been happy with TMax400.
Haven’t noticed a digital pop. Might be sharp images and fine grain that’s giving you that vibe.

Black-and-white photograph of a single pale dahlia flower against a deep, almost featureless black background. The large bloom fills much of the frame, viewed nearly face-on but with a slight natural tilt. Its many overlapping petals radiate irregularly from a tightly folded centre, ranging from small curled inner petals to long, pointed outer petals. Soft changes in tone describe the folds, ridges and translucent surfaces of the pale petals, with the brightest areas retaining delicate texture rather than becoming blank white. A few petals are bent or imperfect, including a small dark blemish on a lower-left petal. The flower head sits slightly left of centre, surrounded by generous areas of black space, particularly above and to the right. A slender, softly rendered stem emerges beneath the bloom, curves gently downward and disappears into darkness near the bottom edge. A narrow white border encloses the photograph.

Situated under I-90 in Downtown Cleveland, two sets of tracks and a brick road from the old Central Viaduct. They head straight towards Progressive Field (The Jake) parallel to the Western Reserve Fire Museum. The right-of-way is mostly a pedestrian area, but part of it is street-side parking. The chairswing at Cedar Point situated between a sign post for Frontier Trail attractions and a couple thin trees. My cat, a tabby, looking away while sitting next to grass growing out of the a crack in the front patio. Leaves from the prior fall line the crack. A modern building with lots of window space. The shot is taken from behind some tall grass with two trees flanking it in the midground.
