"There were too many unreasonable things," he adds.

I know this is not necessarily abnormal for parts of Niigata. I did research for my dissertation on Tōkamachi textile merchants in the late Edo period and tangentially learned about Suzuki Bokushi, yuki-sarashi, etc. But seems unusual for Fukui and Ishikawa.

十日町市博物館に、それより20年ほど古い文化9(1812)年の越後縮裂見本帳が所蔵されていますが、
