Hey folks, for the love of your family, PLEASE get your chit in order for your survivors! I've gone through this twice now in a year. Get your affairs in order while you can make decisions instead of leaving your family holding the bag, scrambling to get things done.

You can get most everything online and heck Notaries come to your house these days and ALL banks have free notaries for their customers. Estate planning documents: • Will: A legal document outlining how you want your assets distributed after your death. • Living trust: A trust that allows for management of your assets while you are alive and ensures smooth distribution after your passing. • Power of attorney: Designates someone to make financial decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated. Medical directives: • Living will: States your wishes regarding medical treatment if you are unable to communicate them yourself. • Durable power of attorney for health care: A document that names a person to make health care decisions for you if you are unable to do so. • Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST): A document that translates your wishes into physician orders • Advance healthcare directive: A broader document outlining your healthcare preferences, including end-of-life decisions. • Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order: A document that instructs medical providers not to resuscitate you if your heart or breathing stops. Other important considerations: • Life insurance: A policy to provide financial support to your beneficiaries after your death. • Funeral arrangements: Preplanning your funeral to alleviate burdens on your family. • Digital asset management: Securely storing and managing your online accounts and passwords. • Beneficiary updates: Ensuring your beneficiaries are correctly listed on all relevant accounts. • HIPAA release: Designating who can access your medical records after your death.
