Victorian Civil War 1872 - The 60th Rhondda Rifles held the ridge at Tonypandy, Captain Jeff Davies leading miners turned marksmen, who knew every inch of the valley. Davies gave the order: “Rifles, bite hard.” By dusk, the English invaders were in retreat and a Welsh legend was born.
