re-rebooting again The #Krononaut #Moon Project in 2026 for the red #BloodMoon to occur during the next #TotalLunarEclipse (TLE) cycle, beginning on the night of 2028 Dec 31. This is the hour when #TimeTravelers are invited to come visit. All are welcome to celebrate, wherever you are. #KronoMoon
Lunar Eclipse: Moon Changes to Red
Alt: "on the night of the Total Lunar Eclipse" (TLE) animated GIF image shows a time-lapse photo of the Blood Moon, when the Full Moon turns blood red in the shadow of the Earth. The celestial event takes about an hour and occurs on an irregular schedule of around 9 times in a decade. The Krononaut Moon Project — #KronoMoon — invites all to participate, wherever you are, in welcoming Time Travelers to come visit during the hour of the Blood Moon. The next cycle of 3 Blood Moons will pick back up on the night of 2028 Dec 31.

I was told that before sunrise on 3/3 we might catch a #BloodMoon (#TotalLunarEclipse), just coinciding with the Chinese #LanternFestival! 🏮🌕 (next time in 2054...) Unfortunately, thick clouds hid the moon, so I turned to my #LEGO moon again and turn it into a blood moon 🌝

The clouds in Sydney did obligingly part shortly before the end of totality.

I wasn't pre-prepared to photograph it as I'd assumed it would be clouded out, but managed to get my Proper Camera and Big Tripod outside for a few quick snaps.

Happy Tuesday everyone. No nude coffee photo this morning, as I was out watching the total lunar eclipse (blood moon). It was stunning from Central Florida. Mother nature put on a fantastic show. I hope everyone has a great day. Coffee time. #TotalLunarEclipse

In the mid-1990s I wondered why I had never heard of a myth about the Moon menstruating when it "turns to blood" during a #TotalLunarEclipse.

When I did the requisite research I discovered that a number of ancient cultures had created such #LunarEclipse myths.

Red Moon Rising : Menstruation Symbolism in Lunar Eclipses
The dark red blood moon seen during all lunar eclipses was perceived as menstrual blood and believed to be a cosmic menstruation by ancient humanity

The total phase of the lunar eclipse has begun. If it's nighttime where you are, and the sky is clear, you should be able to see it.

It's daytime for me here in Europe and the Moon is below the horizon, so the eclipse will not be visible here.

A total lunar eclipse will take place on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, visible from North and Central America, eastern Asia, and Australasia. It will not be visible from Europe or Africa.

Whoa! Sphere in Vegas turned itself into the Moon and then went blood red to celebrate tonight's #LunarEclipse!

That might be the biggest fake Moon we've ever had, right?

I can't remember anything on this scale before....
