Possible link between the Southern Meridian Overturning Circulation (#SMOC) reversal (www.icm.csic.es/en/news/majo...) and this #ToxicAlgalBloom. SMOC reversal causes upwelling of nutrient rich water which combined with warm sea water, and CO2, is what a bloom needs to thrive.
