The quality finish of Matchbox wasn’t great in the ‘80s. I recall scrutinising the three examples in Woolworths for some time, before choosing this one.

Siku Bugatti Veyron EB16.4

The 8 litre, 16 cylinder, mid-engined hypercar that created the genre. Faster than any other road legal production car yet still drivable on city streets (if you had the £million or so to buy one).

Schuco Porsche 914

This was made in various colours. Here’s a blue one.

There are no light or badge details picked out, but I think it captures the shape of the car well.

Norev Citroën DS19. Norev have modelled the DS in various forms and scales. At 1/58 scale this is a strange size, but I picked it up for £1 last month, so I’m very happy with that.
Still such a distinctive and beautiful looking car.

Corgi Citroën Dyane 6.

The Dyane was introduced as a replacement to the 2CV, but only outsold it for two years and eventually the 2CV carried on production for a further 7 years after Dyane production had ceased. The 2CV was cheaper and more characterful, but the Dyane was a more practical vehicle, sharing the same underpinnings.
