To the tune of "the internet is for porn"

🎶A trackless tram is a bus
A trackless tram is a bus
Days and nights at traffic lights
Bus, bus, bus

I am yet to see a convincing argument that a trackless tram is not basically a bus but less useful.

The campaign itself was mainly endless episodes of retreating Germans having to push through (or around) the Soviet blocking units that infiltrated through the tundra, but lacked staying power, thanks to heavier weaponry/ammunition supplies being slow to move through roadless/trackless terrain.

Only trackless trams if they don’t turn round to go back where they came from but just go backwards.

A trackless tram is indeed a bus ..

"Trackless trams" so a bendy-bus ?

Just calling it a “trackless tram” does not make it not a bus

I'm a brilliant logistics genius. This IS how trams work, right?

Which is why I used a strikethrough for 'trackless trams' to make a correction, as they are indeed buses.

Hertfordshire County Council have released a report on what is essentially a fancy busway, pretending that it's a "trackless tram" as is often the case. The stupidity of a "trackless tram" beside, the actual presentation is astonishingly bad:
Hertfordshire County Council is consulting on plans for an east-west rapid transit network linking Hertfordshire and Essex. Electric ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶m̶s̶ (buses) are the preferred option. Have your say and help shape future transport plans before the consultation closes on 4 December.

Remy's Ratatouille Adventure may one day still become a good ride. It started as a screen-based 3-D trackless ride that made people sick. Then they removed the 3-D and have recently added more physical props to hide the screens more. Are these moves in the right direction?

How is a “trackless tram” meaningfully different from a BRT?

I’m starting to wonder whether we can get bendy buses back on London streets just by rebranding them as trackless trams
October 26, 2026 at 8:34 PM
I'll accept that a trackless tram is something different to a bus when I see one with bogeys. (I still won't call it a trackless tram, though. But buses with bogeys would be so much more comfortable.)

Even Wikipedia refers to a 'trackless tram' as a bus.

You can get the current Trackless Tram from Crystal Palace to Orpington. The longest bus route on the network, at almost 15 miles
