TRAFFITECH-GH will become fully operational on October 1, 2026, as the Ghana Police Service begins using cameras and digital devices to detect traffic offences. The programme will allow the police to issue electronic notices and fines to vehicle owners and drivers through SMS. The initiative is being implemented by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) to improve compliance with road traffic laws and reduce road crashes. In a statement issued on September 15, the Police Service said detected offences would first be reviewed before an Electronic Notice of Violation (ENV) was sent to the affected vehicle owner or driver.
