“transactional” is such a sweet way of saying “extortive”
i said it many times before the election. american businesses are not prepared for the transactional nature of a trump presidency
"Spend more on Elon Musk’s social-media platform, or else."

"A lawyer at advertising conglomerate Interpublic Group fielded a phone call ... from a lawyer at X. The message was clear ... Get your clients to spend more on Elon Musk’s social-media platform, or else." A merger could be tanked.

Gift!

So now we know why the CEO of General Motors introduced him. He’s using our money to buy/promote Cadillacs. Everything is transactional in this crass, avaricious administration.

Everything Trump touches is transactional.
We now learn that Fifa had a very specific "ask" in exchange for its "Peace Award" to Trump, with loads of gold trinkets, and that was dismissal of a criminal corruption case against senior Fifa officials. And Trump granted it. Another corrupt bargain, barely noticed (and ignored by US media).

"The President is selling access and influence to the highest bidder. Qatar isn't giving a $400 million jet out of the goodness of their hearts – they expect something in return. That's how transactional relationships work, and nobody understands transactional relationships better than Trump."
Trump caught in major corruption scheme
Even for Trump, the overt corruption is staggering.

Me: This relationship feels very transactional.

i really think people undervalue "transactional" relationships
the fact that I have a specific set of obligations to my employer, and they have a specific set of obligations to me, puts bounds on that relationship that make it much easier to navigate than if I was doing "stuff" for "the community" in exchange for "membership"

"Who taught you that relationships should be transactional? I don't even think *transactions* should be transactional."

“A transactional approach to corruption cases" is just corruption
“A far more transactional approach to corruption cases” is a world-case euphemism for “you can bribe Trump to drop your bribery charge”
