🌍Today is World Environment Day — a global call to safeguard and restore our planet. This year’s theme urges communities worldwide to take urgent action to #BeatPlasticPollution. On this occasion, I’m excited to share a new initiative from the German Marshall Fund of the United States: the Transatlantic Forum for Nature and Environment (TAFNE). #TAFNE will connect regional and local leaders in Germany and the United States to tackle a shared challenge: How do we build future-ready economies while protecting natural resources and public health? Economic prosperity and environmental sustainability go hand in hand 🤝—and the best solutions emerge when we learn from one another💡 #TransatlanticPartnership By bringing together local policymakers, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders from both countries, TAFNE will provide a platform to exchange insights and practical solutions for leveraging nature as a strategic asset – to strengthen #InfrastructureResilience through #NatureBasedSolutions, boost #ResourceEfficiency, and drive inclusive economic growth.
