Unexpected #TransitAdventure on Stockholm’s Roslagsbanan, a narrow gauge commuter railway. They call it a tram, but it’s more like an interurban.

The three branches run every 30-60 minutes, and we rode to the end of the Näsbypark branch and walked to a beach. Fun ride!

Had no plans today so went for a #TransitAdventure with my dad. Atlantic Terminal to City Island via the 2, 4, 6 trains and Bx29 bus. Stopped for a seafood lunch and went back to Brooklyn via the Bx29, Q50-LTD bus over the Whitestone Bridge to Flushing, 7 and G trains.

A four borough @mta.info day!

Went to dinner in the Inman Park area and decided I needed to walk off the meal and squeeze in a MARTA #TransitAdventure on way back to the hotel.

It feels so similar DC’s @wmata.com it, really familiar yet different. And it’s basically free right now as they migrate to a new fare payment system.

Took a loop on the Subway in Glasgow.

The trains are wee, and the route is simple. Decent ridership on a Saturday morning, too.

Wemyss Station dates back to 1903, where the railway ends and a ferry continues to the islands. The arched ceiling of steel and glass represents the era well. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🚉

This evening's #transitadventure in Atlanta: MARTA to a robot bus to the Lee + White food hall by the Beltline trail (had a great dinner at Boxcar), then seeing a very shiny test train run through the West End station (the existing rolling stock is showing its age).
A green ATL Spoke bus, festooned with Lidar and other sensors, waits at the food hall. A Stadler Rail CQ400 train pulls into the West End station, looking extremely shiny with lights accenting its streamlined front.

The RER B is crowded on a good day. During peak times at PAS it is absurd. Oh, and rarely air conditioned.

Le Bourget now has the T11 tram line, which is a bit slower for my trip, but no crowds. And (still relatively ineffective) air conditioning.

Plus, more #transitadventure fun.

Not surprisingly, none of the other passengers wanted to schlep their bags up the stairs for the upper deck views on the bus into town from Liverpool airport.

From a #transitadventure perspective there's an old suspension bridge between the current causeway and the rail bridges.

The suspension bridge is pretty cool, with metal links in addition to wires providing the support.

Olá do Rio! Flying into SDU, this city's equivalent of National Airport, treated me to great views on the way in and then allowed a #transitadventure after landing: VLT (note the ground-level power supply for this light rail) to Metro (see how wide the doors are?), then Uber for the last few miles.

There are no overhead wires; instead, what looks like a middle rail in the ground powers these vehicles. A Metro train at the Barra da Tijuca/Jardim Oceânico station, the farthest stop on Line 4. The train's doors are open and look at least six feet wide.

Time for a #TransitAdventure: I'm commuting from Rancho Cucamonga to LAX this morning, with Metrolink rail and the Flyaway bus service.

So far the woman behind me has a solid sing-along happening, so that's gonna make for an interesting hour.

FYI to anybody heading from the Web Summit Rio hotel to SDU later today: Uber to Jardim Oceânico / Barra da Tijuca station + Metro + VLT Carioca light rail is a cheap and fast #transitadventure, with an easy transfer and tap to pay available for each train.

Her music selection was pretty good, and we rolled into LA Union Station right on time. Slightly better signage for the Flyaway buses would be nice while at the tracks, but I've done it before and remembered which way to go.
