DART officials told Garland council they will test a 90‑day police‑supported gated access demonstration to examine fare enforcement and behavior, and reported increased security staffing, camera coverage and plans for platform gates; the pilot aims to inform longer‑term gate design and staffing strategies.

The city announced a $4,000,000 U.S. Department of Transportation BUILD grant to fund design, assessment and public engagement for modernizing Greenlink's downtown transit facility. City officials said upgrades will include ADA boarding, safety, lighting and evaluations of a 12–20 story mixed-use building above the center.

The Senate Finance and Appropriations subcommittee on Capital Outlay and Transportation considered 13 House bills and recommended reporting on most items (including transit modernization, aviation fund modernization and an autonomous‑vehicle workforce assessment), continued or carried several bills, and requested further study on a procurement cargo‑preference measure.
