It wasn’t said out loud by the panelists, but it was loud and clear. During a post-2024 election panel at TribFest in Austin, I listened as speakers claimed the Democratic Party failed to offer a candidate worth voting for. When Q&A opened, I asked them to break down that math: On one hand, a twice-convicted felon. On the other, a prosecutor who served as a District Attorney, State Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and Vice President. What, exactly, made the candidate with that record so unpalatable compared to a convicted felon?
