It's always Trig for this one! From stray dogs and cats, to cows, and geese, all the animals love him.
Even his horse Mr Flowers from The Kings Raven is a bit naughty, he has never been mean to Trig.
(Although Trig's horse would like to point out he does not like Trig's singing)

It could only be Trig's idea, and Raven hates it.
They have it at Percy's house.
Percy and Aviana organise everything.
Branwen and Merlie do the cooking.
Ilak insists on baking apple pie for dessert.
Trig entertains.
Wilken and Raven go outside and practice with their swords.
Hypothetical day! Your characters are hosting a dinner party!
Whose idea was this? Is everyone on board? Who is doing most of the cooking? The organizing? The socializing?

Trig's fire magic was passed down from his mother. Magic is not something that you can get from learning spells.
Raven's ear ring in her ear is there for a purpose. It gets done before she even figures out what that purpose is.
Let's have a wildcard day today!
Tell me one thing about your character you think will surprise me (or others)!
It could be something that rarely comes up, or something you only just realized about them!

Raven's would be about avoiding her responsibilities, learning weapons, having fun with her pet Raven, making quills, and annoying her brother.
Trig's would be interesting, growing up poor, an alcoholic abusive father, bullied by his brothers, then his mother helping him. 🪄
If you set a prequel story in the childhood of your characters, what type of story would it be? And how different from the main story?
(If they are currently children, feel free to pick a major adult character)

Trig and Raven have lost their horses (again) looking for those darn Werewolves.
Raven would be waking up Trig and making sure the fire is out. Trig's tummy is already rumbling, so he would hunt for mushrooms in the trees for breakfast.
Time for another round of: How Did We Get Here?
Your characters are out in the woods at dawn.
There is freshly turned earth nearby, and the remnants of a campfire.
Why are they there? What happens next?

Anywhere Raven can train and use her sword is where she is the most calm. ⚔
The Assassin's training ground was her favourite place. She wishes she could go back and not be an adult.
Trig's favourite place is wherever Raven is, he would follow her anywhere. ♥️
(And a kitchen 🍺🍞).
What is your character's favorite place in their world? A place they find peace, or excitement, or joy?
Is it a type of place (forest, mall, etc) or somewhere specific?
Is it somewhere they go frequently?

I love writing about good men. 💕
In my books one of them is Trig's stepfather. Trig had a hard life but after his awful father died his mother met another man and married him, who happily took the family as his own.
Trig and his brothers learnt fathers can be kind and loving.
We did it for Mother's Day, now it's Father's Day where I am!
Do you have any characters who you consider to be, or will be, fathers?
Are they a main character, or a side character? Who are their children?

Trig's biggest mistake was when he was younger working at the castle he dropped a bowl of soup on a knight. Not only was he in trouble but he was branded stupid by everyone.
He trusts Raven with the truth of it, and doesn't realise it gains her full respect of him after that.
It is April Fool's Day, but I would never try to trick any of you!
Instead, tell me about a time your character felt like a fool!
Was it their own fault, or another's? How did they respond?

From Trig's perspective the worst is behind him. He still worries about Raven, but everything feels much better now and he is much happier than in his past.
Raven thinks something is coming up that's going to be very sad, but it needs to be done, and she has to do it.
We've talked a lot about tragic backstories and happy endings here.
Which makes me curious, from their perspective, is your character's saddest moment in their past, or still to come?
Are they on an upswing?

The start of my second book The Kings Raven.
Trig has done something, and Raven remembers she owes him a punch for it.
(I figure that's close to "smack")
