This hill is one of my favorite places in the world.

I has Triodia, an arid-zone relict, growing next to SEVT, a dry rainforest relict from wetter times.

More on the Triodia soon.

The Orange Swift (Triodia sylvina): males do helicopter-like display flights at dusk, females drop eggs mid-air. Larvae spend up to 2 years underground chewing roots — the slowest glow-up in the moth world.

A female Orange Swift from the trap this morning on a Rudbeckia flower. Hanging like always. Also, the trap contained nine males. I've noticed that when a female is present, there are always a lot of males. #teammoth

#Bulgaria wildlife post 5.
Noted about 30 #moth species in and around the hotel grounds, especially good during evening walks.
Species such as Rush Veneer were very common. Some photos of more interesting records are attached.
