After hurricane Ida it was extremely funny to watch these guys realize there was no gasoline for their generators. Most of them bolted for motels out of the disaster area. The rest sat in long lines at a handful of stations with truckbeds & trailers loaded with gas cans, raging that gas was rationed

We got a donation from a local guy who was an amateur historian after his death. Been sitting in his garage for decades, but I knew it would be super useful stuff once we processed it. Took a year and 10 interns and volunteers. The collection was 4 truckbeds of boxes. None of it is available online.

Boxy? Like, have you seen modern trucks? SUV's can't haul stuff and truckbeds are too small now. Vans are better than both for people AND stuff. The adoption of SUV's is probably the best example of human irrationality being the driving force behind our modern economy.
