#Trypanosome
"Like Monarez, O’Neill is not a physician" is a fascinating sentence. It seems like it might be relevant that Susan Monarez has a PhD (dissertation: "Macrophage regulation by trypanosome GIP-SVSG during trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense infection ") while Jim O'Neill is a venture capitalist with an MA.
Breaking news: The White House selected Jim O’Neill, a top deputy to RFK Jr., to serve as acting head of the CDC after a clash over vaccine policy ended in the departure of several agency leaders.
White House taps top RFK Jr. deputy as acting CDC director
The decision comes a day after Trump fired Susan Monarez, the Senate-confirmed CDC director, prompting a series of resignations of other top officials there.

Trypanosome doublet microtubule structures reveal flagellum assembly and motility mechanisms
The flagellum of Trypanosoma brucei drives the parasite’s characteristic screw-like motion and is essential for its replication, transmission, and pathogenesis. However, the molecular details of this ...

Structural basis of the RNA-editing cascade in trypanosome mitochondria - Nature
Cryo-electron microscopy sheds light on the architecture of the Trypanosoma brucei mitochondrial editosome and reveals how this assembly mediates mRNA editing through the insertion and deletion of uridine nucleotides.

Here we are! To celebrate our arrival, here is a #trypanosome expanded ~13 times & stained for tubulin, individual cortical #microtubules can be recognised, what was only achievable by EM before. Don't respect the hard work. Respect the expertise.

Monarez has microbiology&immunology PhD
Her research prevents, diagnoses, & treats infectious diseases (trypanosome GIP-sVSG regulation of macrophages during Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense infection).

Calling her Ms. denies the science.

How do African trypanosomes regulate the complement system? Check out our new study from @BiochemCook, in which he identified a new trypanosome receptor which binds to the core C3bBb convertase of the complement system and blocks its activity. Real all about it! doi.org/10.64898/202...

How is transport directionality achieved through the #trypanosome nuclear pore complex? The current model is symmetrical, but this study reveals that the trypanosome #NuclearPore has an asymmetrical architecture, with conserved hubs that direct mRNA transport 🧪 @plosbiology.org plos.io/3Q36QV2

Fun Fact:

If a kissing bug bites you it could be carrying a parasite called a trypanosome. It won’t bother you for a while but whenever it feels like it, it will start to eat little holes in your heart. And then you’ll probably die from heart failure.

Ok goodbye.
I actually followed cause of the animal facts then yo ass just stopped smh
