Zangeres Mary Linda (90) overleden
Zangeres Mary Linda, meer dan vijf decennia een van de meest gevierde stemmen in de Griekse populaire muziek, is op 90-jarige leeftijd overleden in een verzorgingstehuis. Ze zong tijdens haar carrière meer dan 1200 liederen en werkte samen met grote populaire muziekcomponisten zoals Vassilis Tsitsanis, Giannis Papaioannou en Giorgos Mitsakis, en met grote componisten als Mikis Theodorakis en Manos Hadjidakis.

In 1977, she released her first solo album Χαμόγελο της Λιζέτας ("Smile of Lizeta"), which included songs by Tsitsanis, Markopoulos, Giannis Spanos, and Dimos Moutsis.During her career Nikolaou recorded over 150 songs.Between 1978 and 1983,she was married to journalist and politician Giorgos Lianis.
