That's so true. I recently saw one of our favorite frogs, Freddie, with lipstick and a pink tutu on the back steps.

I brought that up too esp since Tutu is for the kids and the kids at heart that still love fairytales but they were the kind of person that viewed Japanese, as compared to all other languages, ineffable. Just got more mad.

I'd argue that the localization of Ahiru/Duck's name is actually crucial, and it should be done for every language that Princess Tutu gets translated into, because without that, you lose the important detail that her name is just the WORD for 'duck.'
