Inflamed by the #BrunswickManifesto and #LouisXVI's vetoes, the National Guard of the #ParisCommune et al., in #The10August, #ThisDayInHistory in 1792, stormed the #TuileriesPalace, killed the #SwissGuard, & took the king into custody. Six weeks later the monarchy was abolished.
