Her hand is so small. Terra felt it. Diode's fingers were small and slender, but they moved with the speed and accuracy of an ancient pianist when she operated the boat. An incredibly strong, cute hand. When the girl had grasped her hand on the night they first met, it was cold as ice. Even now—no. Now it's warm. Blood flowed through it, gradually warming it up a little. A familiar scent of smoked medicinal herbs faintly wafted from her body. Her downcast face turned away. An ear peeked through silver hair. The moment Terra caught sight of it, she felt warmth gently spreading from the tap of hot water that had opened within her breast. —Mm...?

Uhh, the meteorological observatory is full of control panels for strange and complex measurement devices, and I worry about what might happen to the body of a complete novice like you, Terra-san. Leave it for those two and stay here, please."

Her deck dress was a silver and black skinsuit that accentuated her body's contours and with slits which exposed the pale skin of her thin upper arms and inner thighs. Her small chest and butt were clearly outlined. The silver hair that fell to her shoulders and obscured her thin, composed eyebrows was adorned with a lace headcover. Her eyelashes were so thick they could cast a shadow. She was stunning, dressed that boldly. When they’d first met to board the ship that morning, the sight of Diode had crushed Terra's confidence. In comparison to Diode, she felt her own victorian-style gown was too unfashionable. Even now in the rear pit, she was enchanted. She clumsily responded to Diode’s query.

“It’s something that Nurude can use to control every Circ ship at his discretion. I bet you’re thinking, ‘wooooow that sounds really fun, I wonder what he’ll do with that!’, aren’t you?” “Why would I think that?” It was Terra’s turn to frown. “That doesn’t really... sound like any fun at all to me.” “That’s because it’s not, and it makes me so sick I could puke on the ceiling,” Diode replied, before looking around the table and apologizing. Terra waved her hand to say it was fine. We were so close to putting all our damn worries behind us, and right at this crucial moment that freaking arrogant, clingy, freak shit soggy-ass bitch’s family had to ambush us and drag us both into a goddamn supermassive black-hole of trouble!” Everything in a ten-meter radius, friendly chat and heated arguments alike, fell completely silent. “Die-san, calm down please... Sorry everyone, it’s nothing, sorry!” As she apologized to the surroundings, she gently swapped out the mug in Diode’s hands for the ginger ale. “Here, have another mug! Drink up and forget all about it!” Diode drank it in one gulp, and her long eyelashes fluttered as she blinked. Looking at Terra, she asked, “Was I too loud just now?”

"DIE-OD" Rock burst into laughter the moment she figured out the meaning behind the name signed on the temporary shelter request Diode transmitted to the Tsunami Search. "Ahahah, overdose? As in death from a drug overdose? Hahaha Kanna, you're the best. That's the kind of thing that only sounds cool when you're young. It's adorable." "Stop that, you stuuuuuuupid hag! You're just a damn fish who says she's a rock, Iwana!" Rock's smooth addition of a barb to the otherwise sociable chat set Diode off. Terra felt overwhelmed by the scene and was ready to retreat, but asked Rock, "Iwana?" Rock laughed as her cheeks quickly reddened like a little girl. "That's 'cause my real name's Iwana Ishidoro Gendo. Long, innit? Iwana means 'rock fish', so just Rock is easier." Giving her daughter a mischievous side eye, she added, "My nickname isn't because I have eighth grade syndrome. Though if you really insist on a diagnosis, you can call it thirtieth grade syndrome instead, ahaha." "Aaargh! You're making my skin crawl!"
