I finished all three #TwistedTournament stories and have finished the first draft of the #NYCMidnight #rhymingstorychallenge with >6 hours to go… and all while battling strep throat. 🤧😷🥴

Finished judging my first #TwistedTournament. I wasn’t sure about the super-short lengths, but when it came to reading them, it was a refreshing change from the 2,000 word #WritingBattle stories.

I can't believe I jumped onto the overall G1 leaderboard. 18th. And so many familiar names to celebrate, including my group winner who I got to beta 🔥💚🎉 So rewarding to see us excel as writers together. Lookout NQW. 👀😈

I'm not a fan of being given a 1st line as 1 of the prompts as I like to set my own story tone 🤔 ... However I think I made this work well & the 2nd story (250 words) for the #TwistedTournament is in 💜❤️😎
Good luck to everyone else talking part 🍀🤞

Astoria’s cr*p week (literally) isn’t improving. ⬇🧵
She hasn’t even started construction of her 500-word #TwistedTournament story (due in 16 hours).
‘What even is ‘cosy vampire genre’ anyway?’ she wonders.

Bertie wants Astoria to experience an unforgettable out-of-this-world date.
Mission achieved.
And next time, he definitely won’t mix up the spaceship’s drinking water plumbing with the onboard sewerage recycling system.

Managed to crack the top 10 for the first time in @twistinthetale.bsky.social for my third round story “Are You a Parking Ticket?”, which got a clean sweep of ’most heartfelt‘ trophies, amongst others. ❤️
Also clawed my way onto the final leaderboard—20th overall! 🥳

What a roller coaster of a night. The evening started with a rejection on a full from a dream agent, then I found out I won round 2 of this quarter's #twistedtournament? This is my first real writing contest and I couldn't be more stoked!

I'm writing a blog post about how to buy short fiction #writing contest entry fees as gifts. I've got #WritingBattle, #NYCMidnight, #TwistedTournament, and #NotQuiteWrite. Are there any other well-known writing contests out there that do entry gifting?

The #TwistedTournament results are complete & with 25.0 overall (8.33 Avg) I'm happy with a good showing 😎💜♥️ It is interesting though, the way stories are perceived 🤔 I thought my 1st story was my strongest (I got 7.67), my 2nd next (9.34 (6th place)) and finally my 100-word at 7.99 🤔🤗
