I’m skittish at sunset
watching the slugfest
between Sun and Sea
I wish Sun showed more oomph
Didn’t go down, taking
my twopence with him
But I’ll return at dawn
My Sun won’t let me down
Give Sea his salt lick
I’ll have my twopence back
with a #small flick

Also for #vss365
Today’s #poetry #prompt:

Lets make myths together. Where does the sun go when it sets?

CS Lewis: No one who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.

We stopped talking about 'low blocks' being an issue ages ago and I don't think, as a fanbase, we have properly absorbed that yet. My twopence is also that there is still too much focus on individuals and whether selection is 'fair' to them.

I put in my twopence for that. Pretty damn happy about it.

"Twopence a week & jam every other day,” the White Queen said.
"Well, I don't want any to-day…” Alice said.
"You couldn't have it if you did want it," the Queen said. "The rule is, jam to-morrow and jam yesterday — but never jam to-day…It's jam every other day: to-day isn't any other day, you know."
Trump on the "name 5 things you've done this week" email to federal workers: "It's somewhat voluntary but it's also if you don't answer it, I guess you get fired."

The cartwheel twopence of George III was the heaviest copper coin ever minted for circulation in the British Isles. This is an extremely rare specimen made from solid gold. With a weight of 77.7g, it's even heavier than the regular copper version (56.7g). From the Hunterian collection, Glasgow.

they say the boy scouts are homophobic but i went to a scout camp where they secluded 200 pubescent boys at a lake and made us sing songs about the deceptions of women and the sheer joy of being away from one’s wife so idk

“I wouldn’t give twopence for him” — here Caleb’s mouth looked bitter, and he snapped his fingers— “whether he was the prime minister or the rick-thatcher, if he didn’t do well what he undertook to do.”

'Gerard had twopence, so we bought a pair of apples from Mrs. Murphy. She looked noble, like a Najavo woman, with her black tassle shawl and big hoop earrings framing a loose bun of white hair and a tanned complexion from years of facing south to the sun.'
