The most worrying bit in this article is that The Telegraph claims that ‘gender critical’ transphobe, James Esses, is practicing as a psychotherapist, and treating patients with gender dysphoria! 😧

Can anyone who’s a therapist and/or knows of sub- organisations within BACP, UKCP, BPC etc direct me to someone who’d be better placed to engage with her or direct her somewhere else. Most of her messsage seems ok, but I am not currently feeling up to dealing with anyone “not gender critical but…”

the ukcp withdrew from the memorandum of understanding on conversion practices a while back explicitly because its members wanted to do anti-trans conversion practices and this has given them carte blanche to do so

I agree! But of course abusive counsellors disagree (and entire counselling accreditation bodies like the UKCP disagree and argue in defence of their right to abuse clients like this).
From my perspective the question of whether it is or is not conversion therapy can end up becoming a red herring.
