A nice bright Orionid meteor at the peak of the shower, caught by a couple of our cameras out over the North Sea last night. Bright with an absolute mag. of -5.5. Data from UKMON. 🔭

It's amazing what the meteor cameras capture. This sporadic is not particularly special apart from a nice long train, but it's always fun looking at the results every morning over your coffee. And you can get useful data too. Data from UKMON.🔭

Well, the data is starting to accumulate, but I don't know yet if this is good or bad. I used to listen for pings whilst working and I am sure I heard more than one or two an hour.

Despite the full moon, the Leonid meteor shower has produced some good results.
