It does make it funny that part of the drama around Will Stancil is UMinn stuff

There is "an entire literature" on Flat Earth theories, too, as well as whole video libraries. It's still bullshit, much like all the arguments against birthright citizenship.

I feel bad for the UMinn Law students who have to suffer that liar and fool.

Bennoune is from UMich. Some co-authors from UMinn.

How fitting that this happened at Morrill Hall, named after the 1862 act giving stolen Native American land to land grant universities like UMinn to promote settler colonialist agriculture and its extractive practices.
Another colonizer institution perpetuating racism and ignoring its own history.
NEW: In a protest against the University of Minnesota’s accommodation of DHS & ICE, 6 students chained themselves to Morrill Hall demanding the university be a sanctuary campus. Three of the chained students left after being threatened with academic retaliation and police arrested the remaining 3.

i know we can’t change the name of rivalries, but UMinn vs UWash is the REAL Apple Cup

Wonder how much of the UMinn cuts relate to this?

Oh, no!! Pat was such a smart, generous colleague at UMinn. A Minnesota kid who made huge contributions to the field, to business, and to the university.

I dunno man. If I were a law student of Prof. Wurman's at UMinn Law... I'd be asking for my money back.

What happened wasn't "sue and settle." It was "sue an agency you control & have them provide you a massive economic win as a 'settlement.'"

If I can figure that out, so can Wurman

At my faculty committee meeting today, one member told us his colleague at UMinn got disappeared yesterday and another member said her colleagues are not sending their kids to school, and that it is way worse than what we are seeing in the media

The story of Haishan Yang, a PhD student at UMinn, who allegedly used ChatGPT in his qualifying exams, got caught, was expelled.
The evidence against him is...substantial, and hard to refute.
Yang then filed a lawsuit against the profs, USING CHATGPT.

How's about some more from the UMinn Don Lawrence collection?

Summer 1941. Truman's land at the outlet of Spirit Lake hasn't been cleared yet. Somewhere among those trees is his then-new lodge—built in 1939 after the previous structure burnt down two years earlier.

Even at UMinn?

In the Nebraska/Iowa/Minnesota area, Caitlin Clark is a household name, college or pro. If the Gophers played better (in any given sport), they would also be household names rather than just fairly well-known. I should @ my cousin (a UMinn alum) just to annoy him, but I’m feeling kind 😁.

One of the hundreds of thousands of examples of allotment being used for Native dispossession and extraction - with land grant universities being part of the problem. So glad to see UMinn working to redress injustices they themselves contributed to.

I'm from Ireland. We've been doing this truth recovery work for 30 years. Maybe half done.

Often do this where rule of law doesn't exist.

Not to mention, how you define elite. The public university systems really punch above their weight and are some of the greatest equalizers/levelers that we have. UT, UNC, UVa, Georgia, Georgia Tech, UMich, Ohio State, UWisc, UMinn, UofIll, UC Berkeley, UCLA.

UMinn Carlson School supplied it to profs. We just showed up for graduation and it was there.

Interested in a net neuro postdoc at UMinn? Go work with Rick! Highly recommend 👌
hey -- i'm hiring a postdoc! the ad will be up shortly, but looking for someone with network neuroscience experience (very broadly). the position isn't tied to any specific project/grant, so lots of flexibility in terms of what you'd actually *do*. hmu if you might be interested/want to learn more!

it will be impossible for me to have an “everyman” view of the book— I’m too far gone on food to see it as a foodie or a Bon Appetit fan or whatever. I didn’t end up at UMinn Law because I was unfamiliar with agribusiness and modern farming! But this is an auto-rec to anyone with a foodie friend.
