to be clear, police actively target Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The passive voice framing of “disproportionate” impacts on Blak children implies happenstance. Kids in wealthy white areas shoplift, and steal cars, and smoke pot and damage property. They are not policed.

In addition to the ironic juxtaposition of Bragg's appalling statement with the announcement of UNHR findings on Australia's mass incarceration of First Nations people, let's not forget that he said it less than 48 hours after an attempted mass-casualty event targeting those very people.
